New energy limits for B Emmerson range

As designed and tested, the new backstop now has the following limits ;

All pistol calibres 

• NO ENERGY OR VELOCITY LIMIT

All full bore rifle calibres – i.e. supersonic full power rounds

• Keep under High Muzzle Energy limits
• 3319 foot pounds max energy
• 3280 fee/sec max velocity

Additional information

• 17HMR may now be used on this range
• 9pm cut-off for high power rifle loads for noise abatement reasons
• Non SCC holders may shoot full bore rifle only under direct RCO supervision
• SCC holders may shoot full bore rifle without supervision
• Home loaded rifle rounds may only be shot if you hold an SCC with the home loading qualification OR have passed the WRPC reloading course
• 12g slug may be used by prior approval with the RCO only (no safety issue, but they take chunks out of the rubber facing sheets)

Double ear protection is STRONGLY ADVISED if firing full power rifle loads, especially with 30 calibre e.g. 303, .308

There are free foam ear plugs available on range for this purpose.
